Oklahoma Glass and Wallpaper, originally a paint store, was founded in 1947 by George Smith. It wasn’t always located near the train tracks of 224 E. Broadway either. OG&W has its roots back on the west 200 block of Broadway in an old black and white cab company building.
In 1957, after George had passed away, Joe Smith left the Navy to take over the family business. He was interested in the wallpaper and glass industry more than the paint industry. With his cousin Al Smith, Joe turned the company a different direction. Joe grew the company by offering quality products and good customer service
Finally, at the age of 63, Joe retired and turned the company over to two of his daughters, Kathy Ring and Sandra Ziegler. Both of them continue to run Oklahoma Glass & Wallpaper today.
